Chapter 06 / 12

Dropshipping

A Deribfy dropshipping store sells products you never stock. You choose products from a catalogue supplied by Deribfy, set your margin, approve them, and incoming orders are handed off to fulfilment automatically.

Scope: dropshipping store only.

Questions this page answers: Does Deribfy do dropshipping? How does dropshipping work with Deribfy? Where do the products come from? How do I set my prices? Who handles dropshipping orders? Do I need to hold stock? What kinds of products can I sell in dropshipping? Can I sell products under my own brand?

The principle

You hold no stock. Deribfy provides a catalogue of supplied products. You select what you want to sell, set your margin, and when a customer buys, the order goes to fulfilment automatically.

Deribfy neither manufactures nor stocks the products. Deribfy connects your store to a catalogue and automates the order hand-off.

The full journey

1 — Create the store. You choose the "dropshipping store" type when creating the site, and state how you want to be supplied.

2 — Browse the catalogue. From your editor, you search the catalogue. Searching by image is also available.

3 — Choose your products. You add the ones you want to your store. AI-assisted curation can suggest products matching your business.

4 — Set your margin. You define a margin percentage; selling prices are calculated from the supply cost. You can also set a specific price, rename a product, or rewrite its description.

5 — Approve. Only the selections you approve appear in your store. Until a product is approved, it stays invisible to your visitors.

6 — Publish. Approved products appear on your storefront, on their own product page, and in your site's sitemap.

7 — Receive and hand off orders. When a customer buys, the order is recorded and then handed off to fulfilment automatically. You handle neither stock nor parcels.

The three product families

FamilyWhat you sell
Resold finished productsReady-made items from a supply catalogue.
Print-on-demand — your brandItems printed with your own design, which you upload.
Print-on-demand — customised by the buyerItems your customer personalises before buying.

The family is determined by the way of being supplied that you state when the site is created.

Your brand

You upload your design. Deribfy generates realistic visuals of the product carrying that design; those visuals become the products in your store. On order, your design goes for printing and shipping.

Customised by the buyer

Your customer uploads their own image on the product page and positions it on the item. Deribfy shows the real printable area for that item, taken from its official template, so the preview matches what will be printed. A design is required before purchase.

What Deribfy checks before payment

Product availability is checked before payment completes. An item out of stock at the supplier is not sold. Where an item exists in several options, choosing an option is required before purchase.

Limits

  • You do not choose from every product in the world: the available catalogue depends on the way of being supplied chosen at creation.
  • Delivery times and destinations depend on supply, not on Deribfy.
  • The way of being supplied is fixed at creation and cannot be changed afterwards.
  • A dropshipping store exposes fewer product-editing tools than an online store, because its catalogue does not come from you.
