Chapter 02 / 12

How it works: from an idea to a published site

Creating a site with Deribfy takes six steps: describe your business, let the site be generated, edit it, preview it privately, publish it by activating the subscription, then keep editing. The six steps are the same for all three site types.

Scope: all site types.

Questions this page answers: How do I create a site with Deribfy? Can Deribfy create my site automatically? How do I publish a site? Is the site visible before publication? What happens after publication? Can I keep editing my site? Do I need to re-publish after a change? What happens if I stop my subscription?

1. Describe your business

You write, in plain language, what your business does. Deribfy asks a few questions if something is missing.

From your description, Deribfy proposes the site type that fits. You can choose a different one. For a dropshipping store, how you want to be supplied is asked explicitly.

An account is required from this step onwards.

2. Generation

Deribfy creates the site: name, tagline, sector, headline and subheadline, about section, content sections, testimonials, contact details, colour palette and images.

The site is written in the language you used.

3. Edit

Everything is editable straight away. You can ask for changes in plain language, or edit each element directly.

4. Private preview

The View button opens a preview visible only to you. It shows your site as it will be. At this stage, your site is not public.

5. Publish

The Publish button activates your subscription. As soon as payment is confirmed, your site is online at its Deribfy address.

The subscription is what puts the site online: until it is active, the site stays private and the preview is the only way to see it.

6. Keep editing

After publication, your site is not frozen. Your changes appear online immediately. There is no re-publish step.

You edit as before, with the assistant or directly. There is no "re-publish" button, because there is nothing to re-publish.

After going live

  • Custom domain. Once your site is online, you can buy a domain through Deribfy or connect your own.
  • Orders. On a store, orders arrive in your dashboard. In dropshipping, they are handed off to fulfilment automatically.
  • Stopping the subscription. If it stops, the site is taken offline. Its content is not deleted.

Limits

  • The site type is fixed at creation.
  • The preview is restricted to the site owner.
  • Publication depends on payment confirmation.
